The European Commission published a Green Paper on "Promoting the learning mobility of young people" to open up a debate on how best boost the opportunities for young people in Europe to develop their knowledge and skills by going abroad.
With this Green Paper the Commission launched a public consultation which will be open until 15 December 2009.
Responses will be gathered via an online questionnaire and by written submissions.

Job Day Europe is organised in partnership with the European Commission's Directorate general for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, and with the support of EURES, the European Job Mobility Portal.
The event takes place in Brussels. The target groups are jobseekers as well as young people looking for information to give their profile a European dimension.
As part of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, the Open Days 2009 will focus, among other things, on how the innovative potential of the EU can best be developed at regional level. A new element for this year will be the Open Days University: a series of lectures and moderated panels with renowned academics and researchers.

The purpose of this year's forum is to bring together school authorities, ministry representatives, NGOs, national awareness centres, researchers, industry representatives, as well as representatives of pupils, parents and teachers, in order to discuss the promotion of internet safety education in schools in Europe.

The conference is aimed at networking and cooperation between representatives of the Europass, Euroguidance, Eurodesk and EURES networks.
The focus will be mobility in Europe today and how the mobility networks can cooperate in order to reach better results within three main themes: Mobility for young people with fewer opportunities; How to reach young audiences; Making use of international experiences.
Youthpass, the tool for recognition and validation of non-formal education within the Youth in Action Programme, has become available also for Youth Exchanges and Training Courses under Action 3.1. In addition to the upcoming projects, certificates can also be created retroactively for all Youth Exchanges and Training Courses approved after 1st January 2007.
Youthpass certificates can be created online by using the project number provided by the National Agency / Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency granting the project. Beneficiaries are invited to read the Youthpass guide, which contains information on the background and development of the Youthpass, as well as technical information on how to create the certificates.

The European Commission has selected 50 Masters Courses and 13 Joint Doctorates to be added to the courses available under the Erasmus Mundus programme. The new courses involve 296 universities from Europe and 70 partner universities from a range of countries around the world.
With the 50 newly-selected Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses, students starting their studies in the academic year 2010-2011 will be able to choose from among 116 Masters offering scholarships.
