International Youth Day 2009 - 12 August

“Conference on the Future EU Cooperation in the Youth Field” Stockholm, Sweden, 12-14.09.09

The purpose of the conference is to give the participants an opportunity to meet and discuss the substance of future EU youth policy cooperation.
The consultations will be based on a series of previous efforts, such as the European Commission’s communication 'An EU Strategy for Youth – Investing and Empowering', the Member States’ evaluations of the current cooperation in the area of youth policy, the European Youth Forum (EYF) shadow report, and results from the 'Youth Event on Future EU Youth Policy meeting' held during the Czech Presidency.
The results will contribute to the discussions in the Council Working Party on Youth. The decision on a new framework for youth policy cooperation will then be taken by the Council on 26–27 November 2009.

Going abroad to learn: Commission launches a public consultation on mobility opportunities for young people

The European Commission published a Green Paper on "Promoting the learning mobility of young people" with the aim of opening up a debate on how best to boost the opportunities for young people in Europe to develop their knowledge and skills by going abroad.

With this Green Paper the Commission has launched a public consultation which will be open until 15 December 2009.
Responses will be gathered via an online questionnaire and by written submissions.

Training Course “Removing the linguistic barriers in English within intercultural communication” Saint Malo, France, 30.11-6.12.09

The course aims to give participants confidence in using English to develop European projects under the YiA programme, to improve their practice in English related to international youth work, to understand intercultural situations in international work.

It is addressed at project managers, trainers, youth leaders and workers from all Youth in Action Programme Countries, South-East Europe, Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

"Contact Making Seminar Physically disabled in EVS" Hoje Taastrup, Denmark, 11-15.11.09

Seminar for host, sending and coordinationg organisations with focus on inclusion of physically disabled young people in European Voluntary projects (action 2 of the Youth in Action Programme). Its aims are,to increase the number of physically disabled young people in European Voluntary Service projects within the Youth in Action Programme.

The seminar is addressed at project managers, youth leaders and workers from all Youth in Action Programme Countries.
